It's the first week of November and the Halloween high is slowly dwindling. Black Friday is right around the corner and we are well into the Fall season. Yet, I'm not ready to give up on my Spring-like neutrals. I purchased this coat Fall of 2015 for about $35 from SheIn. My best friend and fellow blogger, Alexandria, introduced me to this site last year. The website has incredibly reasonable prices and a plethora of options for whatever your shopping needs may be.
I love black, but it began to take over my closet. I noticed that I primarily had black purses, shoes, and jackets which made it even more difficult to break away from the dark shade. Even if I began to build a look around other colors, it wouldn't satisfy my eye because my shoes, purse, or jacket would put a damper on my vibe. So, I made a vow to add lighter tones like brown to my wardrobe. Ever since I made this vow, I desperately wanted a camel or tan lapel coat to add to my collection. I've always been a fan of longer length clothing such as midi-skirts or jackets like this. But once I began to shop around for this magical coat, I realized that the color wasn't quite right for me. After looking for some time, Alexandria told me about the coats she found on this website and I had to see it for myself! I am not much of an online shopper- I love to try things on and the instant gratification of leaving the store with my goodies. However, I am trying to shop on websites more often because the deals are much better.
I didn't feel comfortable buying brown or tan without seeing the tones against my skin and decided to supplement my fix by buying other neutrals that have historically worked for me. The coats I wanted were only about $35 each. The prices were so good I couldn't resist to buy two lapel coats- one in blush and one in gray. I had been shopping around for a while and most of the coats I had seen at other retailers were closer to $100, so I felt like I was getting a 2 for 1 deal. Now I am able to wear light neutrals with this jacket like cognac, gray, and tan. It also helps me stand out against all the black jackets during the season. When it's cold and rainy people often get stuck in the same rut of wearing the same boring jacket each day. I love that this coat is a unique color in a classic cut because it will last for several years without going out of style. The fun color will also help me stay inspired and looking fresh during the gloomiest of days.
I live on quieter side of town and cherish all the hidden gems in my neighborhood. Looking at these photos almost feels like a fairy tale and brings me back to one of my favorite childhood movies, "The Secret Garden". This swing is a prime example of the surpises that can be found walking around my neighborhood. Shop coats like this onSheIn or similar styles by visiting the links below.
